The Schoolhouse Thrift Shop at Rio
The Schoolhouse Thrift Shop at Rio opened in 1992, at 1147 East Rio Road next to the Episcopal Church of our Saviour. Its main purpose is to raise funds for the outreach programs of Region XV of the Episcopal Church.
Money raised by the Thrift Shop goes to support Habitat for Humanity, Ministry With the Aging, The Alliance for Interfaith Ministries, and the Gertrude Mitchell House, thereby helping children, women, the aging and those in need.
The Shop not only sells items at low cost, it gives clothing to families in need by working with social service organizations. The Shop also offers Christian fellowship for its volunteers.
The Schoolhouse Thrift Shop at Rio was recently named the 3rd place winner in the Favorite Thrift Shop category in the Daily Progress Reader's Choice contest. We want to thank all of our loyal customers for voting for us and we promise to continue to work to maintain your confidence and trust. |
